Love it or hate it, the Marketplace often referred to as Obamacare is the only place to get individual and family insurance outside of a group plan that you do not have to worry about health or preexisting conditions. 

Let me clear the most common myth right out of the gate. ANYONE can get a plan regardless of income. I constantly hear or see people saying they don't qualify for a plan for ridiculous reasons. If you're in the Open Enrollment window 11/1 - 1/15 or have a Special Election Period due to a move, retirement, loss of job, having a baby, divorce, or some other loss of creditable coverage, you can get a plan. You may not like the plan, premium, cost sharing, or political aspect, but anyone can get covered and they do not ask any health questions or consider prexisting condions. The coverage is very comprehensive.
