Health Insurance & Dental Options

Affordable Care Act

Since the introduction of the Affordable Care Act often known as Obamacare there has been a lot of confusion. I can help you siphon through the confusion. Without a special election period that is triggered by a specific event, you must get or renew your plan during the annual open enrollment that runs 11/1-12/15 annually. Plans run on a calendar year from 1/1-12/31.

The plan premiums are priced by income, number of participants, carrier and where you live. You may qualify for a subsidy based off your income. A subsidy can help with your premium, cost sharing (Silver Plans) or both. It's always best to contact me so we can discuss your situation. health insurance dental insurance

Short Term Health

Short term health is a great option for the following people:

  1. You missed the Affordable Care Act Open Enrollment.
  2. Waiting for benefits to start at a new employer.
  3. Between jobs and need temporary coverage.
  4. Age 64 and you pay a lot of money for your insurance.
  5. On COBRA looking for a lower cost insurance option.
  6. You simply refuse to purchase an expensive Obamacare plan.

The Affordable Care Act (ACA) plans still make for the best option. However, if you simply refuse to purchase an ACA plan, this is absolutely better than nothing. With the penalty Obamacare enforces, you would still save money purchasing a short term plan.  If you would like a short term health quote, please use the "Get a Quote" button. The bold and highlighted information is very important to know when making this decision.

*Short term medical plans do not provide coverage for preexisting conditions. Short term health insurance provides accident and sickness coverage. It does not cover preventive medicine and may not cover prescriptions. In addition, it does not meet the mandated coverage necessary to avoid penalty under the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare). Expiration or termination of a short term medical plan does not trigger an ACA Special Enrollment opportunity. You will have to wait until the next open enrollment. Last, short term plans have a limited duration and not automatically renewable. However, National General does have a policy that will renew 4 times, for a 3 month duration and underwriting only takes place once for the 12 months. The deductible WILL start over each new 3 month period.

Christian Care Ministry

Medi-Share is a healthcare sharing ministry founded on the belief that there is a BETTER way… a Biblical way, to take care of your healthcare. A way that focuses on people, NOT profit. A way that inspires you to live a healthier lifestyle so you can fulfill the plan God has for you. We are passionate about saving you money so you can use those funds to support your family and further kingdom work.

Medi-Share is an organized way in which Christians share their money to pay for each other’s eligible medical bills.

  • It’s accountable – Members vote on the guidelines.
  • It’s affordable – There’s an option for every budget that generally saves members around 50%.
  • It’s Biblical – It’s modeled after the early church in the Book of Acts where people were of one heart and mind, and shared what they had.
  • It’s community – Members support each other in prayer and come alongside you when you need it most.

But wait, there’s more. Your Medi-Share membership also gives you zero cost 24/7 access to telehealth providers and dental and vision discounts.

Dental Insurance & Discount Plans

Dental Insurance

Dental insurance plans for individuals and families play an important role in your overall health. Annual cleanings, x-rays and exams help eliminate other health related problems associated with poor oral hygiene. Individual and family plans are great for self employed or individuals not getting coverage through their employer.

When considering a dental insurance plan, the following scenarios could apply. The plan could be a HMO, PPO or a Fee Schedule (discount plan). You may click on any of the links below to get a no obligation quote.

  • Ameritas:  They offer both in & out of network options. Your best savings will come from utilizing in-network providers.  Available in most of the 15 states I am licensed.
  • Bright Idea Dental:  (Available in all states except Minnesota) 3 PPO plans: $1500, $3000 & $5000 annual benefit. $5,000 is the highest benefit available.
  • Delta Dental AZ:  (AZ Only) Great network in Arizona
  • Dental Care Plus Group:  (IN, KY & OH) Dentist owned, you will likely find the best network in the areas they provide plans.
  • Humana:  Offers 4 plans in most areas I am licensed. 3 of the 4 plans have no waiting periods. In addition, they have a vision plan.

See a plan, lets discuss before applying to make sure you understand the benefits & network.  In addition, we provide vision insurance options.

Dental Discount Plans

Discount plans are available in all 50 states for individuals, families and groups. Discount plans are not insurance, but give you access to the network discounts from 10%-60%.  Remember, you must use in-network providers. One of the best features, no waiting periods or annual maximums.

I consider discount plans to be the “Sam’s Club” or “Costco” of dental savings.  If you’re not in a hurry to get a plan, many great sales are offered throughout the year that I can inform you about.  If you need assistance with plan selection, a group plan, finding a dentist or when the next great sale happens, please give me a call.

You can see pricing for individual and family plans by clicking on "Get a Quote".  Many plans offer additional discounts on telemedicine, vision, prescription and chiropractic services. If you call Dental Plans and choose a plan, make sure you provide my Broker Code: 44699.
